Meet Marci Gurnow | Dallas Symphony Bass Clarinet

Meet Marci Gurnow, Bass Clarinet of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She shares the performances she’s most excited for, a career-defining Ring Cycle, and why comfort matters just as much as confidence onstage.

Q: What upcoming performance are you most excited about right now?

A: I am always excited to play Mahler, and I am looking forward to Mahler's First Symphony with DSO this spring as well as Mahler's Fourth in Seoul, Korea next month!

Q: What’s been a career highlight you’ll never forget?

A: Performing and recording Wagner's entire Ring Cycle with the Dallas Symphony under our music director Fabio Luisi has been a huge life highlight!

Q: How does the right concert outfit change the way you feel onstage?

A: Let's be honest, an amazing concert outfit can absolutely inspire confidence, but if it's not comfortable enough to play in, it defeats the purpose!

Marci (5' 6") is wearing The Slip Dress with the Asymmetrical Lace Top in size S, regular length
