I’m Mercedes Smith, a professional flutist who’s spent over 20 years performing more than 100 concerts a year. After decades of wearing clothes that were clearly not made with musicians in mind, I started Blackstrad to create the concert attire I could never find.
My approach is simple: concert clothes should look beautiful, make you feel confident, and be easy to care for. Every piece is designed with real concert black dress codes in mind and tested on stage.
I know firsthand that what you wear can change the way you perform. When you’re comfortable and confident, you’re free to focus on what really matters: the music.
